CSGO DFS Breakdown (BLAST – 4/16)

G2 (-125) v OG (-105)

Bans: Overpass (G2), Vertigo (OG)

Picks: Dust 2 (G2), Inferno (OG)

OG is playing with two new players (FlameZ and Niko) and they are in their first bootcamp in over a year which are both big bonuses for this team which has struggled at times this year. They will be facing off with a new look G2 lineup which is now featuring NiKo as the primary AWPer. OG knocked off Astralis in their first game which was of little to surprise to most as Astralis has been looking really bad over the past few months. G2 knocked off Endpoint in what was ultimately a very tight game as G2 won 32-25 in overall round count. This sets up a scenario where OG beats down G2 but I beg to differ based on map pool and team structure. G2 has played with each other for really long at this point as their core has been together since September 2019 and they have a top 3 player in the world in NiKo now picking up the most dangerous weapon in the game. I do think OG has the talent to make this a 3-map series but overall I think G2 is back in form and will be too much for OG to handle with so much going on with their lineup. They just signed FlameZ about a week ago so there is no way they have ironed out all of their roles and this could lead to a bit of disjointedness tomorrow vs G2. Overall, Map pool, talent and pricing all favors G2 tomorrow which is why I am loving this 3-stack which I listed below.

DFS Plays: NiKo, Hunter, AmaNEk

Spirit (-265) v Dignitas (+195)

Bans: Vertigo (Spirit), Mirage (Dignitas)

Picks: Dust 2 (Spirit), Nuke (Dignitas)

Good luck to Dignitas because they are going to need a miracle in order to beat Spirit tomorrow. Spirit has won 11 of their last 14 best-of-3’s with their only losses coming to the World #1 (Gambit). Basically since they added Degster from Espada they have been firing on all cylinders as the coach said he wanted a more aggressive AWPer and he got it in a player who leads the team in kills per round (0.81) and rating 2.0 (1.27). Throw Mir into the mix (0.79 kills per round, 87.3 ADR, 1.26 rating 2.0) and you have one of the most dangerous squads in the CIS region. They will be taking on Dignitas who did a very good job taking down TL 2-0 which was mainly on the back of Heap (+19) and LekrO (+18). The issue I see here for Dignitas is the map pool as their best pick (Nuke) is a really good map for Spirit (86% win rate across 7 maps over last 3 months) and Spirit’s pick is a really bad map for Dignitas (Dust 2 – 36% win rate across 14 maps over the last 3 months). I mean Spirit has won 8 in a row on Dust 2 and that includes a 16-1 over Astralis and a 16-10 over Gambit. Throw in that Spirit has won 6 of their last 7 on Nuke including wins over Heroic and BIG and you have some problems on the Dignitas side as their map pool simply doesn’t work very well into Spirit. In terms of DFS I love Mir and Degster of course but my dark horse is Magixx who comes in at only $5600 tomorrow on DraftKings. Love the trio and love Spirit to beat down Dignitas.

DFS Plays: Degster, Mir, Magixx
